This boutique hotel faces Barcelona’s Cathedral in the heart of the Gothic District – ideal for exploring the cultural Catalan capital.

The Hotel Barcelona Catedral is set in the city centre, just a short walk away from the world-famous La Rambla and the city’s main square of Plaça Catalunya. It is surrounded by the atmospheric, narrow streets and smart shops which make up the Gothic District. On Wednesday nights and Sundays the hotel offers its guests a free guided walk around the sights of this historic area of central Barcelona.

After a day visiting the sights you can relax with a dip in the rooftop swim pool or enjoy the sun from the terrace. You can also enjoy a meal from the hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant out on this terrace, or a drink from the bar. Those looking to stay in shape can head to the hotel’s fitness room.

It would be helpful to have a location map. The taxi from the station could not locate it and we ended up walking round in circles!

there is very little storage for clothes if two females are sharing a room

The people were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A great team.

As the shower screen is not a fixed screen. For us oldies, we would have felt safer if there was a grab rail attached to assist getting in and out of the bath/shower.

Great location, quiet but a few seconds walk from the Cathedral

Not quite as luxurious as the price might suggest. A little mistake by the reception staff led us to believe that breakfast was served until 11 am the following morning and having been kept awake for several hours by very noisy guests in a nearby room, we arrived for breakfast at 10.45 only to be told that it was finished- all was well in the end, although we didn't think much of the breakfast.

Our ship docked at 5 a.m. and we expected to leave our bags at the hotel until we were able to check in. Instead we were given our room as soon as we arrived and were able to get a few more hours rest before beginning our day in Barcelona. That was very much appreciated!!
